Walter Lantz Productions Logopedia, Walter Lantz Studios, formerly known as "Universal Cartoon Studios", was founded in 1929 by director Walter "Walt" Lantz. Walter Lantz passed away in 1994 but the cartoons he produced and directed still seem as fresh and funny today as they did when they were first released. Walter Lantz brought his old theatrical cartoons to network television in 1957, with The Woody Woodpecker Show (1957-58). Walter Lantz Productions was an American animation studio. Each half-hour program featured new live-action segments with Lantz himself, hosting the show and demonstrating the animation process. It was in operation from 1928 to 1949 and then from 1950 to 1972, and was the principal supplier of animation for Universal Pictures.
